Kushagra Nayan Bajaj (38), Chairman of the Bajaj Group, is the great-grandson of Shri Jamnalal Bajaj, the renowned freedom fighter, philanthropist, businessman, confidante, disciple and adopted 5th son of Mahatma Gandhi. He is a Bachelor of Science in Economics, Political Philosophy and Finance from the Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, USA. He earned his Master of Science in Marketing from the Northwestern University, Chicago, USA.

Revenues of the Bajaj Group will be USD 3.25 billion with an assets base of USD 4.4 billion in 2016.

The Group has interests in Power, Personal Care Products, Real Estate, Sugar, Ethanol and Philanthropy.

Bajaj Power Ventures Pvt Ltd includes the Lalitpur Power Generation Co Ltd and Bajaj Energy Pvt Ltd with a total of 2,500 MW of thermal power generation. Among the top 3 private sector profitable power producers in India, with revenues are of USD 2 billion in 2016.

Bajaj Corp Ltd produces Bajaj Almond Hair Oil, the 2nd largest hair oil brand in India and amongst the top 20 brands across all categories. Revenue is USD 150 million.

Bajaj Infrastructure Development Co Ltd and Bajaj International Realty Pvt Ltd are together expected to post revenues of USD 200 million.

Bajaj Hindusthan Ltd, among the top 5 sugar and top 10 ethanol producers in the world, also produces around 430 MW of power through cogeneration. Revenues are targeted at USD 900 million.

It’s philanthropy initiative, the Kamalnayan Jamnalal Bajaj Foundation will spend over USD 150 million by 2020, providing self-sufficiency in water, hygiene and education in the districts of Wardha in Maharashtra and Sikar in Rajasthan.

Kushagra Bajaj was honoured with the `Young Achiever’ award at the 10th Rajiv Gandhi Awards, August 2007. India Today, in its Youth Special issue of January 2005, recognised him as a leader of India’s Gen Y. The Government of India also nominated him for the prestigious Padma Shri Awards 2011. Kushagra is a Black Belt in Taekwondo, earning his certification from the South Korean International Taekwondo Association in November 2015.
